cop-side-tylerTyler — which takes its name from President John Tyler — is a regional educational and technological center, and is home to the University of Texas at Tyler. A breathtaking tourist attraction, Tyler is the Rose Capital of the World and attracts thousands of visitors each year for the Texas Rose Festival. But, of course, Friday nights in the fall are made for football and this city of 100,000 has produced two Heisman Trophy winners — Earl Campbell (Texas) and Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M). Tyler — also home to numerous manufacturing headquarters and centers — will continue to pioneer, just as it has originated programs such as the international Adopt-a-Highway movement.
