As the Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Development in the Office of Institutional Advancement at Hartford Public Schools, Tavera is responsible for strategic and program planning, implementation of the district communications plan, grants management and other fundraising and institutional special events.
The efforts of the Office also include the expansion and diversification of financial resources through both strategic partnerships and deep community engagement. Tavera — who holds a B.A. in psychology from St. Michael’s College in Vermont and an M.A. in communications from the University of Hartford — has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 25 years, first serving as the Associate Executive Director at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts and continuing at her own management consulting firm.
