pnet-bio-johnson-janetAs the Economic Development Administrator for the City of Richmond City Manager’s Office, Jackson manages development programs, including business retention, business attraction, tax credits and business incentives to local businesses; analyzes, reviews and recommends strategies and financing tools for development projects; and manages the following projects/programs and contracts; the Downtown Richmond Property Business Improvement District, designs and hosts events and clean and safe initiatives downtown; the Revolving Loan Fund, provides loans to small businesses declined by commercial banks; and ongoing small business classes/workshops and seminars through collaborations with the SBA and other technical assistance providers.

Johnson served as Project Manager for formation of the Richmond Main Street Initiative, Inc. and the design of the Macdonald Avenue Economic Revitalization Master Plan “the Plan” to revitalize 52-blocks of the historic commercial district in Richmond, Calif. The overall Plan budget was approximately $265 million. To date, the Plan has created approximately 500 local jobs and attracted more than 20 new businesses to Macdonald Avenue.

In addition, Johnson serves as a Board member on the Richmond Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Successor Agency to the Former Redevelopment Agency boards. She is also Staff to the City of Richmond Economic Development Commission, the Richmond Revolving Loan Fund Board and the East Bay Economic Development Alliance.
