Engbith — a sophomore political science major at Yale University — is one of 13 founding New Haven Promise Ambassadors, selected to create campus community and increase communication between the Promise Scholars and Promise headquarters. That program is being piloted on four campuses this fall.
In addition to her Ambassador duties, Engbith is a library assistant at the Yale School of Law’s Foreign and International Law Collection. During an amazingly busy summer, she served as an instructor with the Yale Young Global Scholars Program and as an intern both both the New Haven Mayor’s Office and the Division of Invertebrate Zoology at the Yale Peabody Museum.
The Wilbur Cross High graduate also revived ‘Yale China Care’ after three years of organizational inactivity and now serves as its president. Unsurprisingly, she was honored with the President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement and Citizenship by the Neighborhood Music School in 2013.
