Winograd — a Senior Fellow at the University of Southern California’s Center on Communication Leadership and Policy and former senior policy advisor to Vice President Al Gore — is a nationally known expert on the Millennial generation.
He is now the president of the newly-formed Redeeming America’s Promise, which is dedicated to reforming the system of financing higher education in the United States.
He is co-author (with Mike Hais) of three highly acclaimed books, Millennial Makeover (2008), Millennial Momentum (2011) and Millennial Majority (2013) on the impact the generation will have on America’s future. That first book, Millennial Makeover — which focused on political realignment and predicted the 2008 national election well in advance — was named as one of Pulitzer Prize-winning critic Michiko Kukatani’s 10 favorite books of 2008.
Sander Vanocur, a former White House correspondent for NBC News who now hosts two shows on the History Channel — said, “In its portrayal of America’s future, Millennial Makeover is a brilliant, prophetic… and, in some respects, even frightening book.”
Winograd earned a B.A. in business administration and attended law school at the University of Michigan.
