Odia Kane

pnet-bio-kane-odiaKane — a senior at Engineering & Science University Magnet School — is a pioneer in a pioneering class. She and her classmates will be the first graduates of the school in the spring and those who qualify will be the first ESUMS students to earn New Haven Promise Scholarships.

But Kane will be no typical grad. She has already been named one of “40 Women for the Next 40 Years” by the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund, one of just five teens statewide to earn the honor. A poised speaker, she has won awards from the Connecticut Debate Association and Yale Model United Nations. And she has self-published two novels.

She is strongly considering her in-state options and we can’t wait to see what her future holds.
