As the director of talent and workforce development for the Detroit Regional Chamber, Troutman is the project manager of the Transportation, Distribution and Logistics Workforce (TDL) initiative that is designed to align workforce development with economic development in the TDL industry.
As a member of the Chamber‘s talent and leadership development group since 1990, Troutman also works with the Detroit Scholarship Fund, designed to assist Detroit Public School students, who meet certain standards developed by the business community, with college assistance.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Troutman was a supervisor for the National Bank of Detroit working in computer services, printing micro-fiche, customer statements and working with the network for the newly formed ATM services department. Troutman — who has a bachelor’s degree in public affairs with a minor in geography from Wayne State University — resides in Indian Village in the city of Detroit.
Troutman’s committee work will be focused on the child sessions at PromiseNet 2014.
