One of the Detroit Scholarship Fund Coordinators at the Detroit Regional Chamber, Boone is a Program Coordinator for the Michigan GEAR UP Program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

In that role, she works to raise early awareness and readiness for undergraduate study.

Her previous experience includes serving as an Americorps VISTA member, helping traumatic brain injury patients regain literacy and technology skills and volunteering to work with domestic violence and anger management therapy patients. Boone graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn where she majored in psychology and sociology and minored in French​.
