Smith — the Managing Director of Alumni Affairs for Teach For America in Connecticut — helps those who served TFA have access to leadership pipelines in the field of education.

She had previously served on the staff of former Congressman Robert E. Andrews in the 1st District of New Jersey, where her focus was on economic development ventures, immigration matters and education initiatives. A 2003 Teach For America charter corps member in Philadelphia, she taught secondary English Language Arts for five years.

A native of New Jersey, Smith is a graduate of Spelman College.
