Hazel Park Promise — which was initiated by Hazel Park Schools — has a variety of objectives that it intends to complete by making college affordable for city students. Among those goals are to revitalize the city by increasing the postsecondary attainment rate in the community and making it an attractive destination for families and businesses. That will allow students to enter high school with a mindset that they can attain postsecondary education.

Hazel Park Promise will promote and provide opportunities for Hazel Park K-12 students to experience out-of-the-classroom academic enrichment, such as college campus field trips or pre-college programming. And it intends to increase both the percentage of 11th grade students who meet or exceed standards on the ACT and the percentage of Hazel Park High seniors who complete the FAFSA.
