The Degree Project® is a groundbreaking program created to give nearly 2,600 participating Milwaukee Public Schools students the boost they need to attend college and reach their full potential. The program, a partnership between Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation & Affiliates and Milwaukee Public Schools, sets academic goals for high school students in The Degree Project. Those who work hard and achieve these goals can receive a scholarship of up to $12,000 to help pay for an education at a two‑ or four-year college in Wisconsin.

Great Lakes has committed $10 million to this program. Its hope is to provide a brighter future for individuals, families, and Milwaukee, while demonstrating that promise scholarships are a good investment worth extending to all students.
